But even then, you just let the spearmen do their own thing without your input and just manage the cavalry so it's not overwhelming. So there will be more micro as you manage multiple cavalry units to cycle charge them and make sure they don't get surrounded. To keep the units they are charging into preoccupied, you need some weak but tanky spearmen fodder to keep the enemy's focus. So you need to "cycle charge" them by pulling them back, get back in formation, and charge back into the backs of the enemy's front line. Cavalry gets very strong bonuses when they charge in as opposed to prolonged engagements. Brettonia is very cavalry heavy (Dwarves have no cavalry). Almost no real complexity other than setting up your defensive position and maybe telling which units for your ranged to focus on and popping a few buff abilities on your hero units.Ĭompare that to another faction that may be more skirmish heavy. If you are Dwarves for example, you just sit behind an extremely tanky front line and let your ranged and artillery pick apart their units. Its complexity can be largely dictated by you as well as the faction you play. I would highly recommend this game if you have even a minor interest in RTS. Goblin archers are going to play very different from wood elf archers, for example. The hardest part about the game is figuring out how the(dozens and dozens) of units behave and play. Use of real world tactics is encouraged, flanking, enveloping, line of sight for archers and artillery, will determine the outcome of battle. The movement is a lot clunkier because you're controlling a realistic(ish) sized army, but the basic concept is still the same. If you have experience with starcraft it will not take you long to jump in. The battles are fantastic, just an absolute joy to play and watch. #Total war warhammer 2 races reddit series#The campaign map is very easy to understand once you get into it, in fact a major complaint about the TW series is that the campaign mechanics are too simplistic. It's not much more complex, it just looks that way because of the presentation. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
